What is an implant?

A dental implant is a metal screw which can be used to substitute a missing tooth root. It is made of ultra-pure titanium and the surface Sample Imageis treated to encourage bone to grow on the surface of the implant. The current technique was developed more than 30 years ago and is a highly successful procedure.

A dental implant can be used to support a crown, a bridge or a denture depending on patients’ individual needs.

ImplantsOnce the implant has been placed it is normally allowed to heal undisturbed for approximately 8 weeks prior to attaching the crown, bridge or denture.
