One of the UK’s most experienced implantologists, Ian has been involved with dental implants since 1999. He carries out all aspects of implant treatment, including advanced procedures such as bone grafting and sinus surgery. Ian has undertaken extensive post graduate training in implant dentistry and in 2008 was awarded a Diploma in Implant Dentistry and higher certificate in Advanced Implant Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is one of only a small group of implantologists to hold this prestigious qualification, which is widely recognised as the Gold Standard Award within implant dentistry in the UK. Ian has a Doctorate from Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry and is currently Dean of the FGDP (UK), the UK’s only professional membership body for general dental practice, where he is also a Fellow.
John has a master’s degree in dental implantology and was accepted into the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013. He subsequently undertook Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Liverpool Dental Hospital working on complex tooth replacement cases under the tutelage of Consultants in Restorative Dentistry. John is also qualified to carry out intravenous sedation for anxious patients.
Rhys has a master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry from Peninsula Dental School in 2018, which he achieved with distinction. He is the clinical lead for Restorative Dentistry and Sedation in Devon Dental Implant Centre. He also has a special interest in the treatment of anxious patients using sedation and behavioural techniques and was awarded the prestigious post graduate diploma in conscious sedation from Newcastle dental school in 2009. Rhys is a member of the national council of the British Society for Restorative Dentistry.
Lisa is a highly experienced dental nurse with an NEBDN Certificate in Dental Nursing, Dental Implant Nursing and Dental Sedation. She has worked with Ian Mills since 1998 and helped develop the implant clinic at TDP where she is now Implant Nurse Team Lead.
Neah joined the practice in 2008 as a trainee dental nurse and has since gained her NEBDN Certificate in Dental Nursing and Dental Implant Nursing. She has been a member of the implant team since 2014 and is also responsible for leading the orthodontic clinic at Torrington Dental Practice.
Narome joined the practice as a seventeen-year-old apprentice dental nurse in 2008 and since then has gained her NEBDN Dental Nursing qualifications and her NEBDN Certificate in Conscious Sedation. Narome is an invaluable part of the sedation team and works alongside Rhys Gabe providing our patients with a wide range of dental services.
Abbie joined TDP in January 2020 as a trainee dental nurse, having begun her training in 2018 with a different practice. She has since progressed to become a qualified dental nurse.
Sarah is an experienced dental nurse, qualifying in 2001and has gained the NEBDN radiography certificate as well as being competent in impression taking. Sarah has previously worked in general and orthodontic practices and joined Torrington Dental Practice in 2019.
Sue joined Torrington Dental Practice in April 2018 as our Referrals Administrator. She brings 30 years of experience as an admin executive to the role, having worked all her professional career in the blue-chip industry.
