John graduated from Liverpool Dental School in 2012. This was his second degree, his first was Biology, read at the University of Leeds. Upon graduation in Liverpool, John was delighted to receive four undergraduate prizes for: professionalism; management and leadership; endodontic skills and clinical writing.

John has a background in oral surgery, he was fortunate to spend his first year in general practice under the tutelage of a Specialist in Oral Surgery. John went on to complete a year of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training based at Liverpool Dental Hospital and Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral. During this time he furthered his clinical skills and experience in oral surgery. He also provided regional on-call trauma cover to the A+E departments for Alder Hey children’s hospital, The Royal Liverpool and Aintree University Hospitals.

John is committed to postgraduate education and was accepted into the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013, after passing his Membership of the Joint Dental Faculty Examination at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Following this, he embarked on further training in implant dentistry and in December 2017 graduated with a Masters Degree in Dental Implantology from Edge Hill University in Liverpool. John’s research project focused on whether patients prefer 3D digital intraoral scans or standard dental impressions to produce dental implant supported crowns. It was a patient-centred study and it was designed to investigate and improve the patient experience throughout the dental implant restorative process.

John provides all aspects of general dentistry and aims to provide reliable, evidence-based, patient centred care. He has a particular interest in dental implant treatment and aesthetic replacement of missing teeth. The skills and knowledge, which John has acquired within digital dentistry and implantology, will ensure that he becomes an valuable member of the implant team.

In his spare time, John enjoys the great outdoors and socialising with friends. He married his wife Sophie in September 2017 and looks forward to enjoying the Devon countryside and beaches.
